United States — More than 250 airport security lanes across the US now accept mobile IDs and process facial recognition scans. The TSA plans to extend biometric gates to 65 airports this year alone.
Europe — The EU has implemented a new digital border control system across the Schengen Area, replacing manual passport stamping with biometric identity verification that collects fingerprints and facial images of all non-EU nationals entering Europe. What This Means for Indian Travellers Going Abroad
Check Your Passport Has a Chip — Look for the international e-passport symbol on the cover of your passport. It looks like a small rectangle with a circle inside. If your passport does not have this symbol you may face longer queues at biometric gates abroad.
Fingerprints at European Borders — If you are travelling to Europe, your fingerprints will be scanned and stored in the EU Entry Exit System. This is mandatory for all non-EU visitors and takes less than 2 minutes. Do not panic — this is completely normal.
